HDMI Cables for Sale

Analogue signals were very susceptible to signal degradation leading to snowy or ghosted pictures. These problems could be improved or eliminated by upgrading to heavily shielded cables that used purer metals in their construction, hence why gold-plating was seen to be a great feature to guarantee the best picture quality. The science fully supported ensuring that the RF 'waves' had technology behind them to ensure minimal signal degradation.

With Digital Signals, there is no science that we are aware of that supports the theory that expensive cables will make any difference to the actual data transfer, at least over typical consumer distances of a few feet between the input source and the output HDMI device.

Yep, I called it data transfer, because that's exactly what it is ... a rapid fire succession of timed electrical pulses on or off (1's and 0's). Think PC and hard disk or network cables ... do you see much signs there of heavy shielding and gold-plate standards? Maybe there is a difference in paying for expensive HDMI leads, but we have yet to see it and all our cables have been bought inexpensively. We suggest that you do the same before forking out £50+ for an expensive cable. Remember analogue degrades - digital works or doesn't (in which case you have a faulty cable)

When you want to buy HDMI cables, just think about when you transfer movies and other files to your flash drive. That's a digital transfer, but how many times has a movie or picture ever corrupted in transferring in that way? We bet that you have never seen a failure.

Manufacturers and retailers would love for you to spend big bucks on cables that they can mark up considerably, but the truth is that you just don't need expensive HDMI cables.
